Pincher Creek and Waterton National Park – October 9th to 11th

We headed down to Pincher Creek to visit a few friends down there again, including a new little baby who was just a rather large bump last time, so that was pretty exciting!

We saw a whole lot of snow on the mountains in the distance as we drove down the highway, which was very pretty and exciting for us! We had also booked in to get some snow tires fitted in Pincher Creek, so we had a wander (got lost) around town when we got there, and things took a little longer than we planned, but we eventually got to Boyd & Brittany’s place and saw adorable little Beau and met little baby Rio!

The next day Lawrie went out to work with Boyd where he was doing the concrete footings for a shed, while Brittany and I took it a little easier before heading out to the site as well. Lawrie loved the little Bobcat there and learnt to do wheelies, and I had a go too (but no wheelies…)!

It was getting pretty chilly, and Lawrie said there was snow at the site in the morning! So then Lawrie and I headed down to the nearby Waterton Lakes National Park which we hadn’t quite got a chance to visit while down this way last time. It is a really beautiful place, and was made even more so by the beautiful fall colours around! It’s also the place where we were apparently guaranteed to see bears in the wild (we’ve been to a few of those places now!), and although we drove to all the right places, and looked really carefully, no go… But it was such a nice place, and we’d gladly go back in a hurry!

A bit of floor hockey in the basement with a few more friends was a fine way to finish off the night too! Then the morning views were pretty spectacular! We hope to head back to Pincher Creek for another visit soon J
